Joel Boylan Award – Nova Scotia Snowboard

Joel Boylan was one of those riders that didn’t say much, but he didn’t have to, he let his riding speak for itself. Joel was a very talented and powerful snowboarder who was respected and idolized by many. After winning the 2004 Honda Tour of Champions title for halfpipe he was invited to travel with the national snowboard team to Europe, competing on the World Cup circuit in 2005. The Deb MacLean Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented annually to a member of NS Snowboard to recognize their commitment and volunteerism with the organization. Without our amazing volunteers, NS Snowboard would not be able to develop our athletes, coaches and officials. The Deb MacLean Volunteer of the Year Award will serve as a tribute to Deb and the MacLean family who have supported NS Snowboard for decades. Steven Fairbairn has been a snowboarder since 1990, way before snowboarding was considered a sport and 8 years before the first event in the Olympics.
